Buffaloes Stadium
Fujiidera is a former home of Kintetsu Baseball Club (PL) for almost a half century, 1952-1996, until curious shaped Osaka Dome was opened. Since then, this ballpark, "Buffaloes Stadium", has been home of Kintetsu farm team.
The facade of this stadium reminds us of an European castle, medieval atmosphere of which is old but modern. Once getting into the stadium though, you may recognize that all of the structures are just old.
Set in a residential area of southern part of Osaka, they had not been allowed to install any electric light until 1984. The next year they welcomed the first "Midsummer Classic", and in 1989 they had the "Fall Classic", in which the Baffaloes almost swept the Giants. However they lost four games consecutively after three games straight win. The seventh game of that series was played here.
